Rachel hails from Edmond, Oklahoma where she trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Modern. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Master of Education in Adult in Higher Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. She danced with RACE Dance Company under the direction of Hui Cha Poos, the first jazz, hip hop, and contemporary dance company in Oklahoma before moving to Boston. She has trained and performed works nationally & internationally by Robert Reed, Bill Evans, Heidi Henderson, Malaya Ho, Patrick Debenham, Cheyla Clawson, Adam Parson, Chip Abbott, Jill Priest, TOKYO, Glyn Gray, Jeremy Duvall, Leah Roman, and John Ariete. Currently, she is also dancing with Embrace of Tribe, Inc. When not dancing, Rachel serves as the Manager of the Dance Division for the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Bring a chair and see new works in this free performance!
This performance will include free form dance through the park using its many natural landscape features. There will be site-specific choreography as well as excerpts from repertory and a preview of new works to come. There is also an interactive segment planned where dancers will invite the audience to join in!

This unique workshop in May 2018 was for adults and children ages 8+, and presented as a part of Massachusetts ArtWeek. In a one-of-a-kind experience, this unique workshop encouraged participants to interpret and identify their own artistic portrayal of animals, and blend it with choreographed dance excerpts as well as improvised movement. Students learned from choreographer Sallee Slagle and the dancers of Forty Steps Dance while exploring the movement of Creatures. All workshop students also were presented with the fully edited video of Sallee Slagle’s choreographic master work Creatures which was filmed at LynnArts theater.

Lynn Joins the Artweek Festival; “Creatures Workshop” comes to Nahant
LYNN – ArtWeek, a 10-day festival that celebrates culture, creativity and the uniqueness of Massachusetts communities, will take place statewide April 27-May 6.
For the first time, the city of Lynn has been invited to participate. Marblehead, Nahant and Salem also will take part.
