Forty Steps Dance engages and inspires communities through the expressive art of modern dance. Founded by Artistic Director and Nahant resident Sallee Slagle in 1992, the company is committed to carrying forward the legacy created by American modern dance pioneers by creating and presenting professional quality performances and educational workshops for all ages and abilities. The company has performed throughout the Boston area and abroad with North Shore Dance Alliance, Windhover Center for the Performing Arts, the Culture Connection, Majestic Cruise Lines and the Saint Hill European Arts Festival in England, and at locations such as The Dance Complex, Newburyport Firehouse Theater, Boston Center for the Arts, Marblehead Little Theatre and free community performances in parks throughout the North Shore. Forty Steps Dance is a 501c3 charitable non-profit company.
